Last month the City of Nashville and surrounding areas of Tennessee experienced unprecedented rain and severe flooding. As the flood waters have receded and experts have been able to assess the full scope of the damage, it has become apparent that the recovery will take far longer than the original projections. We’ve mutually agreed that the potential risk to the success of the GEOINT Symposium was too great, and we at USGIF have decided to change the venue for this year’s symposium. The dates will stay the same, Nov. 1-4, but GEOINT 2010 will now be in New Orleans.

The City of Nashville and surrounding areas experienced unprecedented rain over this past weekend, and therefore they have experienced severe flooding. With the success of the GEOINT 2008 Symposium at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, we created fantastic partnerships with many people including the management and staff at the Gaylord and with the great professionals at the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau. They are all wonderful to work with, and the safety and welfare of them, their staffs, and their families are first in our minds. We wish them all well as they deal with the aftermath of the terrible flooding.
